About Me
My name is Andrea Mann, and I am over 40.
I live in London, England, where I work as a writer, comedy writer, freelance writer and jazz writer. No, wait – jazz singer. I’m also currently the Comedy Editor of The Huffington Post UK (I heartily recommend heading over there, especially if you like videos of cats, people falling over, or people falling over cats).
My main website is www.andreamann.com.
I’m also on Twitter as @AndreaMann. And yes, it took blood, sweat, tears and the threat of violence to get that handle. You should see the other woman (Andrea Mann).
Me, no longer channelling Sheena Easton.
Well, maybe the later years.

You look really fit!
I like your blog and am following it. I hope we can be friends and you’ll take a look at mine. I like fashion, music, sewing and always looking for new things even though I’m a Grandmother in her prime.
Sure!
Wow..your a Grandma? You’re so young!
I’m into the same things you are (except for the sewing).
Feel free to re-post anything on my site you like.
Thanks!
I can’t believe how sexist and how reductionist your above commenter is:- “you look really fit.” Honestly, in this day and age… Oh wait, hang on, no, sorry, actually it’s true.
Haha!
Over 40? Holy Moly. You look gorgous and not one year older than 35
Your website is great too!
Bless ya! Thanks
Thank heavens for Freshly Pressed…otherwise I wouldn’t have come across your blog…which, if you don’t already realize it, is sheer friggin’ genius. I LOVE IT!!!
Aww, thanks SO much!
Andrea, 40 is the new 30! And, the beginning of real life – the one we were really ment for living! Don’t worry about age, it’s just a number- by the way, I am right up there with you (age wise) and OWN a few of these hip T-shirts from H&M. I am the coolest mom around! And I trult believe it! Ha!
Loved your Springsteen t-shirt piece. You’re right on so many levels but, I have to ask, why (as a 40 something) were you shopping in Hennes in the first place? I do shop there – but only for my daughter, my neices or, as the years fly by, for my great neice and grand-daughter. There’s nothing wrong with buying and wearing a Springsteen t-shirt – but buy it at a gig; it has so much more cred (as a nearly 60 something, I really shouldn’t use words like that). Born in the USA – love it but can it compete with Asbury Park, The River and Devils and Dust? Not sure.
Why was I shopping in H&M? Well, probably because I’m still in a bit of denial about my age..!
Hehe. And yes – I absolutely adore Asbury Park and The River especially. Wonderful, wonderful albums.
long live H&M for over 40s – i mean in the US old navy is approved for all ages at least H&M is FUN and modern. We don’t have to lose our cool just b/c we gain a couple of years xx #forever21
This is interesting smithwriting. I am an older woman so called but young at all.
I still like stuffed animals.
Good for you!
Cheers to you my fellow batwinged damsel. Over 40 has got to mean we get to say what we want by now? Love your blog.
Andrea,
You did mention Sheena Easton… I was 9 years old when Morning Train came out. Today, I am 10.
